On the way to a drag competition for money and fame, the non-binary and overworked 40-plus teacher Jaya is accompanied by a student who wants to move in with his father. On their road trip through the Philippines, the two meet locals from the island of Sicogon who were stripped of their land and rights, in 2013, by the country’s largest real estate company, ALI, after Super Typhoon Haiyan, one of the strongest and deadliest tropical storms since records began. In their voices and stories, Jaya also learns a lot about herself.

With a cast consisting only of typhoon survivors, a lot of humor, and social portrait realism, the fictional documentary film fights to this day for the rights of the victims. Local performances are still being boycotted by ALI.

A California backpacker travels to Buenos Aires to pay homage to the Argentine pirate who conquered his hometown of Monterey in 1818. After being robbed, he is picked up by a group of young theater actors. Before he knows it, he finds himself entangled in polyamory, theater rehearsals, and plans to kidnap the US ambassador.

Through the fusion of genres and the incorporation of fantasy into everyday life, the film comments on the influence of imperialist US interests in the historical exploitation and destabilization of Argentina. In the end, the pirate life may not be so bad after all.
